The National Park Service Special Resource Study of the feasibility of the historic Wolf House at Norfork possibly becoming a part of the Park Service has been delayed again. Natalie Franz, Community Preservation Planner for the Midwest Regional Office of the National Park Service who is overseeing the study, said the project remains very active and despite budget issues in Washington the Park Service is proceeding with the study.
Franz told KHOZ.com they hoped to have the special study completed by last fall, but that time line has been moved back for the draft report.
Various options include taking over the Wolf House as a federal funded historic site. The Park Service could become involved in a limited way, by helping the county or local groups operate the site.
