The new commission appointed to re-draw Missouri’s State Senate districts will hold its first meeting February 18th in Jefferson City.

Governor Jay Nixon appointed the new commission after the State Supreme Court rejected an earlier re-districting plan.  Five Democrats and five Republicans make up the group. 

Locally, Springfield attorney and former State Representative Doug Harpool is a member.

The State Senate districts are re-drawn every ten years after census numbers come out.
