A Request for Proposals, or RFP, goes out next week as Skaggs Regional Medical Center looks to merge with what it calls a key strategic partner. 

In announcing the move, hospital CEO William Mahoney provided no details on where those proposals will go, but acknowledged that the Cox and Mercy health care systems, both with hospitals in Springfield, would be logical choices.  Mercy spokesperson Lisa Cox says they are aware of Skaggs’ intent, and interested in looking at the possibilities…
