A West Plains man was arrested yesterday without incident in Marion County on felony charges related to the robbery of a Flippin video store.   According to Flippin Police Chief Dusty Smith, 34 year old Rodney Fox has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property.   Smith says Fox also has outstanding felony warrants from Missouri for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm.   He is being held at the Marion County Jail with bond set at $50,000 for the Marion County offenses.   He is also being held without bond pending extradition to Missouri. 

     

Chief Smith says the 9-1-1 office received a call yesterday from MVP Video in Flippin reporting a robbery at gunpoint by a man wearing a mask.   Officers from the Flippin and Bull Shoals Police Departments, Marion County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas State Police responded and within an hour, developed Fox as a suspect.   He was located at the Seawright Motel in Flippin and placed under arrest.   During the course of the investigation, officers learned that earlier during the day, Fox had purchased a BB gun at the Flippin Wal-Mart. Officers found an empty package for the gun along with a receipt for purchase and the mask used in the robbery in Fox's room at the motel.   Later, officers located the BB gun used in the robbery hidden near the video store.   They also recovered an amount of money that was stolen in the robbery.

     

According to Chief Smith, Fox was also developed as a suspect in a misdemeanor theft that occurred Thursday in Flippin.   Smith says that investigation is continuing and additional charges against Rodney Fox are expected.
