Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but services will likely be private for Branson resident and legendary entertainer Andy Williams.

The Taney County Coroner’s office confirmed that Williams died at his home in Branson at 10:45 Tuesday night.

Williams built his Moon River Theater in Branson in 1992.  Branson Show League president Jim Barber remembers meeting him there for the first time:

It was on the stage of that theatre in November of last year that Williams announced he had bladder cancer.

Friends and fans on Wednesday left flowers and mementoes outside the Moon River Grill, next to the theatre.  Entertainer Mike Cathcart was emotional on Wednesday.  He shared the stage with Williams on many occasions, and appears regularly at the restaurant:

Notables paid tribute to Williams on Wednesday.  U.S. Senator Roy Blunt called Andy Williams a great man, a great entertainer and a great businessman, as well as a great friend.

My family and I loved and admired Andy. We saw him several times in Las Vegas, different venues throughout the world, and at his state-of-the-art theatre. We were fortunate enough to share many visits backstage as he was part of our family, and he always made us feel that we were part of his. We are very saddened by his passing. Our sympathy to his family, his staff, and his loyal fans. Love you always, Andy!
