You will pay a bit more for your Thanksgiving feast this year.
The Missouri Farm Bureau says the annual Marketbasket Survey shows higher prices for the items needed to prepare a meal for 10 people. The cost of a 16-pound turkey with stuffing, rolls and butter, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and peas, carrots and celery, milk and coffee is $51.87, or $4.46 higher than last year.
The biggest increase is in turkey prices, at $1.46 per pound, compared to $1.21 last year. Dairy items are higher as well. The survey found lower prices for pumpkin pie mix, sweet potatoes, stuffing and cranberries.
Arkansas families will have it a little easier than their neighbors to the north will. They will pay $45.12 for the same meal. Last year for the same meal, they paid $45.11, which is only one penny higher.
