A majority of the Mountain Home City Council chose Methvin Sanitation of Harrison to be given a contract as trash hauler for all residences and businesses within Mountain Home.

Methvin will replace NABORS Sanitation, which will cease operation Nov. 30, the company’s manager, Jason Kincade told the city in a letter this week.

The price for a weekly residential pickup of up to four bags of trash will increase to $13.50 per month from the current $10.50 for most customers, and now will include the weekly pickup of recyclable plastics, paper, and metal.

The final determination was made after listening to final presentations to the council by Methvin, IESI of Cherokee Village and Inland Service Corporation of Lawton, Oklahoma.
