Funeral services were held Friday for a dispatcher for the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department who died of complications following a traffic accident.

The Ozark County Times reports 49-year old Sondra Hammond of Brixey was involved in a crash Monday afternoon on Highway 181 near Hodgson Mill. She died Tuesday evening at her home.

According to the report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Hammond lost control of her van while traveling south, ran off the road and struck a tree. The report said Hammond sought her own treatment for minor injuries. However, the newspaper quotes sheriff-elect and chief deputy Darrin Reed as saying Hammond was in a lot of pain.
