Light Voter Turnout Determines Harrison's Runoff Races

According to county officials, voter turnout for Harrison’s runoff elections was very light.

Early voting numbers indicated around 800 city residents voted prior to yesterday.  In that election, incumbent Johnny Savage beat out challenger Karen Hill, challenger Rick Griffin beat incumbent Wendell Stephens, challenger Wayne Cone defeated incumbent Shannon Snow.  Dan Roberts beat out Mark Fowler in the final runoff race.  Both Roberts and Fowler ran for the only open seat on the city council.

The results will remain unofficial until certified by the county’s election commission.

Glad to see Mr. Cone and Mr. Roberts won. Now I wish all the political signs would be taken down.
