According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, a Good Samaritan, who was trying to direct traffic after an accident south of Harrison, was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured.

Yesterday evening on State Highway 7, a two-vehicle accident left a large amount of debris in the roadway.  James L Mundy of Harrison stopped to see if anyone was hurt and then began to direct traffic.  However, Mundy was wearing dark clothing.  A driver headed south on the highway did not see Mundy and struck him around 6 pm.

Mundy went to Mercy Hospital in Springfield via air ambulance.  His status is unknown at this time.

Highway 7 north is a very dangerous road to travel, what with narrow lanes, sharp corners and mostly no shoulders. The speed limit should be no more than 45 MPH but most travel it at 65 MPH. surprising there are no more fatal wrecks that there are.
