Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Hudspeth Motor’s on Tuesday about two individuals who were attempting to purchase a vehicle. But after a quick credit check, it turned out these individuals had false information.
A 911 call was made and when Deputies arrived, the two individuals fled the scene in a vehicle, striking another vehicle as they left. Deputies pursued the vehicle, and finally stopped the individuals at Kum and Go on US 65 South. The driver, later identified as Michael Warrick, 33 years old of Springfield Missouri, fled on foot from officers before being detained by Harrison Police Corporal Rodney Smith. The passenger, later identified as Diana Warrick, 31 years of age also from Springfield Missouri, was apprehended at the scene by Deputy David Upton.
It was determined that the Warrick’s had been stealing other peoples identity and using that information to obtain property and credit cards. Numerous false identification cards, Driver’s Licenses, and fake checks were located in the vehicle. Michael Warrick was also in the possession of a loaded handgun and suspected methamphetamine at the time he was placed under arrest.
Both individuals were placed in the Boone County Jail with a $100,000 bond each.
