North Arkansas Regional Medical Center is hosting a Lunch and Learn Program on the topic of Diabetes Management. The Lunch and Learn is free to the public and will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 11:30 am in Conference Room C located on the 3rd Floor of the Patient Tower. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. with the program to follow.
The program will cover basic diabetes information and terminology, convenient tips for eating healthy and staying active, and the basics of insulin and GLP-1 agonists including a demonstration on the use of diabetic devices.
The speaker is Lisa Johnson, BSN, RN, CDE. Ms. Johnson has been a Registered Nurse for 17 years with experience in Home Health, Occupational Health, and hospital nursing. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator who has been living with Type 1 diabetes for 25 years. Ms. Johnson is also member of the American Diabetes Association, American Association of Diabetes Educators, and The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Ms. Johnson was diagnosed with diabetes before becoming a nurse and has made it her mission and passion to provide diabetes education on a level that is easy to understand.
