The City of Branson will spend 5-million dollars to revitalize the downtown area. The Board of Aldermen has approved first reading of an engineering agreement for the "Historic Downtown Streetscape Project."
Alderman Rick Davis commented at last night’s city council meeting…
The engineering contract with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. costs nearly 885-thousand dollars, including a 97-thousand dollar traffic pattern analysis and more than 350-thousand dollars in design-related tasks, according to City Engineer David Miller.
The contract includes branding, pedestrian access and drainage studies in addition to construction analysis. The surveying and analysis portion is expected to take 7 months, with full construction plans prepared for 2014.
Full construction costs are expected to reach 5-million dollars.
