A very strong winter storm system is headed for the Ozarks. Meteorologist Doug Cramer at the National Weather Service in Springfield says the storm will arrive Tuesday afternoon.
Cramer says the snow will begin sometime mid- to late afternoon on Christmas Day. Light to moderate snow will fall overnight, and leave the area very early Wednesday morning.
Cramer says the greatest impact from the storm will be the effect on travel. If you’re planning to drive across far southern Missourior southeast Missouri, the roads will likely be snow-covered, especially on Christmas night. Cold temperatures will remain for several days.
