Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe said they expect driving conditions in the central part of the state to deteriorate further and that only essential state personnel will be working today.  Beebe said the re-freezing of melted winter precipitation on roads will make travel very treacherous.

Beebe issued an emergency declaration yesterday morning and called out the National Guard to help ambulances and emergency personnel deal with travel issues caused by the heavy Christmas Day snow.
