Power Outages in Arkansas for Days

About 200,000 utility customers remain in the dark from the Christmas Day winter storm.

KY3, Spingfield television station is reporting the state's largest electric utility, Entergy Arkansas, said it planned to spend most of Thursday assessing damage and that it would be a week or longer for many customers have their power restored.

Overnight lows were forecast to be in the teens, which assured that Wednesday's slushy roads would be icy Thursday morning. State police urged people not to travel except in an emergency.

Gov. Mike Beebe gave state employees in the Little Rock area a second day off, except for essential workers.
