The tally of Arkansans stranded without power following the Christmas Day snowfall peaked north of 200,000, but Entergy says 135,000 of its customers remain in the dark today.
The company says they have an additional 4,000 workers from several states coming into the state to help restore power as quickly as possible to all of its customers.
CEO Hugh McDonald believes the repair work will take time and that those in the hardest hit areas may be without power for up to a week, possibly longer. The hardest hit area at this time is in Pulaski County where some 75,000 customers do not have electricity. Fifty-seven thousand of those customers are in Little Rock.
