A Salesville man pleads not guilty in connection with the death of his girlfriend on New Years Eve.

53 year old David Smith entered the plea in Baxter County Court Thursday. Smith is accused of using a hammer and a knife to kill Lisa Smith at his home.

David Smith was assigned a public defender during his court appearance Thursday. He’s scheduled to be back in court January 17^th
