Sheriff Mike Moore is happy to report that Christina Ratliff, age 49, of the Zinc area has been found due to the efforts of the Boone County Search and Rescue Crew and Boone County Deputies.

On 01/03/2013 the Boone County Sheriff’s Department was informed that a woman Christina Ratliff, age 49, was missing. Ratliff, who resides on Zinc Cut-off road near Zinc was reported missing by her husband who had last seen her after he went to bed around 1AM. It was believed she left the residence sometime during the early morning hours  that she left the home voluntarily and may have obtained a ride to a family member’s home or the women’s shelter where she has been known to go to before. Deputies were informed that Christina does suffer from mental and physical disabilities.

Christina could not be located at any of the known possible destinations, and the Boone County Search and Rescue was contacted to initiate a search surrounding the Ratliff home and Zinc area. Boone County Search and Rescue crew members reported at approximately 3:30 PM today that Ratliff had been found on a hillside approximately a ½ mile from her home. Ratliff was found to be suffering from exposure and in a weak condition although she was alert and appeared to have no significant injuries. North Arkansas Regional Medical Center was called to the scene where Ratliff was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Sheriff Mike Moore said that it is always great to report a positive outcome to a missing persons report and offer appreciation for the efforts of Boone County Deputies and the Boone County Search and Rescue crew.
