A Reeds Spring man is in the Stone County Jail on $500,000 bond following an altercation with law enforcement Tuesday.
Sheriff Doug Rader says 43-year-old Joey Lynn Plunkett was arrested for throwing a large amount of gasoline on a deputy and attempting to light a lighter. The deputy was responding to a residence on Craig Street in Reeds Spring on a report of a physical domestic disturbance.
Rader says Plunkett was sitting in a locked vehicle outside the home when the deputy arrived. Plunkett reportedly sped away in the vehicle and nearly struck the deputy before running into a tree.
Plunkett faces two counts of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of felony resisting arrest.
