A Baxter County, Arkansas teenager is dead of an apparently self inflicted gunshot wound.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery reports deputies were called to a residence in the Arkana area just before nine o’clock Tuesday morning. They arrived to find 16 year old Benjamin Goforth, dead from a single gunshot wound to the head. Goforth’s father told authorities he had left the house to go to work when he heard a gunshot, went back inside and found his son dead.

Benjamin Goforth’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
