In case you hadn’t heard, there was a tornado Thursday that damaged an electric substation in Benton County, Arkansas and destroyed the Bentonville office of Carroll Electric Cooperative.
That was the scenario as officials with Carroll Electric gathered for a mock disaster exercise.
According to Carroll Coop’s Nancy Plagge, those on hand were presented with the disaster, took the plan they have in place and started working their way down the checklist…

Those taking part also went through a cyber-attack drill. The Cooperative has had what is known as an Emergency Restoration and Business Continuity Plan, or E-R-P, in place since 2007. When the coop goes through a period of time with no actual disasters, they will go through a mock disaster to make sure the plan still works.
