In case you had not heard, a tornado Thursday damaged an electric substation in Benton County, Arkansas, and destroyed the Bentonville office of Carroll Electric Cooperative.
At least, that was the scenario as officials with Carroll Electric gathered for a mock disaster exercise.
According to Carroll Cooperative’s Nancy Plagge, those on hand were presented with the disaster, took the plan they have in place, and started working their way down the checklist…

Those taking part also went through a cyber-attack drill. The Cooperative has had an Emergency Restoration and Business Continuity Plan, or E-R-P, in place since 2007. When the coop goes through a period with no actual disasters, they will go through a mock disaster to make sure the plan still works.
