Reducing substance abuse among the community’s youth is the goal of a coalition formed by the Taney County Health Department to apply for a federal grant.

The Drug Free Communities Grant would provide up to $125,000 per year for five years. The money would be used to help provide information to the public, work to reduce availability of illegal substances, and to provide incentives to encourage positive behavior.
