Green Forest’s city council met in special session recently. The special meeting dealt with several items.
Within those items was a sales tax ordinance for a citywide 1.25% increase. The council agreed the city would use the tax to pump up the general fund and help pay for police and fire vehicles as well as other equipment. This means that the Election Commission will now have to decide upon a special election date for the town’s citizens to either pass the measure or defeat it.
