A bill allowing concealed handguns in Arkansas churches may go before that state’s Senate this week.

Republican Senator Bryan King of Green Forest is sponsoring the bill.  It calls for allowing churches and other religious institutions to decide whether to allow or restrict concealed handguns within their walls.

Governor Mike Beebe, a Democrat, has said he would likely sign the measure if it passes.
