The American Red Cross Long Term Recovery efforts for survivors of the Leap Day Tornado in Branson are winding down. In about one year, since the devastating storm struck Branson, the organization has closed 220 cases.
Chief Communications Officer, Nigel Holderby, says a few more than 30 cases remain open. She says, the Long Term Recovery group is working to get these cases completed and begin transitioning to stand down. Any new situations will be turned over to the Community Organizations Active in Disaster team.
The American Red Cross began helping the Branson community, after an EF2 status tornado struck the area on February 29, 2012.
