A fire occurred this morning in Berryville at the historical Berryville Tourist Information Center.
The call came in at 8:15 a.m. with the Berryville Volunteer Firemen and Berryville Police department responding.
Police attempted to break open the front door; however the crews had to cut a hole in the roof above the heat pump. Flames were extinguished quickly after firemen poured water down the hole. Heavy smoke continued to come out of the roof for some time.
According to the Berryville Mayor Tim McKinney, the building suffered smoke damage.
