Buffalo National River Partners Program in Boone County

Susan Young from Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale, Arkansas returns in 2013 with “Essie Ward, Grandma Moses of the Ozarks,” at the Boone County Library, Tuesday, February 26.

Born in 1902, Essie lived all her 79 years in the Ozark hills of Searcy County, Arkansas. She began drawing when she was a young girl and throughout her life, created drawings, paintings, toys, and sculpture -- all without the benefit of formal training. Susan will delve into the life of this local artist. The program begins at 5:30 p.m.

Prior to Susan’s program, Sybil Craig with Buffalo National River Partners will update members on the status of the organization. The public is invited to attend the session that begins at 5 p.m.

The library is located at 221 W. Stephenson in Harrison, Arkansas.
