Arkansas State Police received a report of a drunken driver, but instead found a fatally wounded man.

Early Sunday, a caller reported a wrecked vehicle near the Dave Ward interchange in Conway on I-40.  The responding trooper found 31-year-old Jose Martinez of Conway, who was unresponsive.  Martinez was taken to a nearby hospital, which pronounced him dead.

Investigators suspect someone pulled-up alongside Martinez and shot him.  They have sent Martinez’ body to the State Crime Laboratory for autopsy.
