Engler Remembered at SDC

Peter Engler is being remembered not only as Branson’s woodcarver, but as the man with the idea for the very first special event festival at Silver Dollar City.  Co-founder Pete Herschend says Engler had his wood carving shop in what is now the park’s grist mill when he met with him almost exactly 50 years ago…

Peter Engler died last Friday at the age of 80.  He’ll be remembered Thursday evening with a celebration of his life at the Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Graveside services are at 1 o’clock at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
