(Harrison) – Sisters, Jescie and Savannah Weelborg, recently donated over ten inches of hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Organization, through their affiliate, The Claude Parrish Radiation Therapy Institute of North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

Jescie is eleven years old and is in the 5th grade at Alpena Middle School. She enjoys basketball, fishing, riding in the truck, golf, and playing with her friends Sammy, Rodney, and Reed. This is the third time Jescie has donated her hair.

Savannah is seven years old and is in the 1st grade at Alpena. She enjoys fishing, riding her bike, playing cards, going to Awanas, and reading. “I hope my hair helps someone who needs it”, sweetly says Savannah.

The girls’ proud parents are Mack and Amy Weelborg. Their grandparents are Jim and Brenda Nowlin and Karen Weelborg. Their siblings include Jerica, 23, Ricky, 22, twins Amanda and April, 21, and Adrian, 8. The sisters decided to donate their hair because their dad had cancer and they saw a television show on donating hair for cancer patients.

Beautiful Lengths is a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society, the largest nonprofit health organization committed to saving lives from every cancer, in every community, and improving the quality of life for people facing the disease. The role of Pantene is to help women grow long, strong, beautiful hair and provide the funds to turn this hair into free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer.

So far, Pantene has donated 18,000 free real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society’s wig banks which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country. They are currently the country’s largest donor of real-hair wigs through the American Cancer Society. Because real-hair wigs are expensive, and many women with cancer can’t afford them, demand for these wigs is high. They can only create as many wigs as donations, so your part is critical to improving the lives of as many women as possible. For more information on donation requirements, please visit www.beautifullengths.com

To see if you are eligible to receive a free wig or if there are wigs available in your area, please call the American Cancer Society’s Wig Bank Line at 1-877-227-1596
