Daylight Savings Time began this morning and the U-S Fire Administration says it’s a good time to change the battery in your smoke alarms.
Smoke alarms powered by a 9-volt battery should be tested monthly. The entire smoke alarm unit should be replaced every 8 to 10 years.
It’s recommended to have a smoke alarm on each level of your home and near sleeping areas. A smoke alarm with a dead or missing battery is the same as having no smoke alarm at all.
