For the last four years, the Robert Wood Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute has compiled the County Health Rankings that rate the overall health of nearly every county in the United States.

They base the rankings upon statistics concerning mortality, health factors and behaviors, access to clinical care, social and economic factors, and the county’s physical environment.

Based on those numbers, Boone County is the fifth healthiest county in Arkansas, Baxter County ranks 16^th, Carroll County ranks 18^th, Searcy County ranks 21^st, and Newton County ranks 55^th out of the state’s 75 counties.

In Missouri, Christian County ranks 5^th, Stone County ranks 52^nd, Taney County ranks 72^nd,  Barry County ranks 83^rd, and Ozark County ranks 104^th out of the state’s 115 counties.
