For the last four years, the Robert Wood Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute has compiled the County Health Rankings that rate the overall health of nearly every county in the United States.
They base the rankings upon statistics concerning mortality, health factors and behaviors, access to clinical care, social and economic factors, and the county’s physical environment.
Based on those numbers, Boone County is the fifth healthiest county in Arkansas, Baxter County ranks 16th, Carroll County ranks 18th, Searcy County ranks 21st, and Newton County ranks 55th out of the state’s 75 counties.
In Missouri, Christian County ranks 5th, Stone County ranks 52nd, Taney County ranks 72nd, Barry County ranks 83rd, and Ozark County ranks 104th out of the state’s 115 counties.
