The Taney County Commission has approved additional funding for the Rockaway Regional Sewer Plant. Rockaway was given 50-thousand dollars in addition to the 150-thousand in August (2012) for the purpose of upgrading their sewer equipment. Eastern Taney County Commissioner Danny Strahan:

Twenty-five percent of the county’s wastewater capitol improvements sales tax dollars are set aside annually for incorporated areas to use toward improvements. Rockaway requested the funds to make additional upgrades to achieve the level of treatment required by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
