A Mountain Home woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the first degree.
Twenty-five year old Christina Maria Scroggin is charged with the murder of 24 year old Raul Segura Turrieta whose body was found in a vehicle at 244 County Road 343 yesterday morning.
According to the sheriff, deputies from his office responded to a 911 call at 5:50 a.m. from the rural Baxter County residence by a person who said a woman had driven to the residence saying she may have killed someone.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found the body of a man, identified as Turrieta, in the trunk of the vehicle. Scroggin was taken into custody at the residence and Turrieta's body was sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
Sheriff's investigators served search warrants on the vehicle and at Turrieta's residence. Sheriff Montgomery says the location and circumstances of Turrieta's death are still under investigation.
