Arkansas Home Sales Drop in February but Gain in Value

A study of home sales in Arkansas by the Arkansas Realtors Association show a slight 2-percent decrease of the number of homes sold statewide in February compared the same time a year ago.

The report also showed a 7-percent increase in the average price of homes sold in the 43 counties surveyed, during the same period.

Harrison Remax Agent Bob Dodson says although home sales are down the upward trend in home values is encouraging news:

Dodson says the local housing market is moving back to it real value. He says the perfect definition of the value of a home is what someone will take for it and what someone is willing to give for it.

According to ARA the average home in February sold for 152-thousand. Statewide valuations in February rose by almost 6-percent from last year.
