A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Periods of snow will continue to fall across much of the Ozarks in North Arkansas today and tonight. The snow could be locally heavy at times during the day. Some rain may mix with the snow at times over parts of west central and central Arkansas.
Accumulations of 4 to 8 inches of snow are expected across the area today and tonight. Higher elevations, especially along the line from Jasper to Marshall, Mountain View to Cave City could see 8 to 12 inches. The northern portions of Johnson, Pope and Conway counties will recieve more snowfall than the valley locations.
Area roads, bridges and overpasses will become snow covered and hazardous. This will make for dangerous driving conditions afor the commute to work or school tis morgning.
A winter storm warning means there is the potential for significant ice, sleet and snow accumulations that may impact travel as well as living coniditions. Residents should take precautions due to the expected winter weather and continue to monitor the latest forcasts on KHOZ AM 900 and KHOZ FM 102.9.
