In Missouri a statewide tornado drill is scheduled next Tuesday afternoon as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.

The National Weather Service and emergency management agencies urge schools, businesses and citizens to use the drill as a check of readiness for severe weather. Spring weather can include severe thunderstorms, torndoes, lightning and floods.

Authorities say severe weather awareness week is a good time to develop a plan, including a safe location, in the event of dangerous conditions.
