Ozark County Shooting Incident Under Investigation

Authorities in Ozark County are investigating a weekend shooting incident near Isabella. According to a release from the sheriff's office, a 41-year-old man was shot in the chest with a .38 caliber revolver during an argument at a residence. An individual who called law enforcement from the home of Brandon Gay Evans said he had shot a man who was trying to get into the home. The caller reportedly said he had been assaulted, and that the gunshot victim had been asked to leave the premises several times. The shooting victim was airlifted to St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield after authorities arrived to find him slumped over on the steps of the home. Authorities have not yet released his identity, and no charges have been filed at this time.
