A man charged in connection with an alleged abduction and rape last fall faces a jury trial in June in Boone County.

Twenty-eight year old Dale Lee Stanford was arrested November 7th of last year at the State Line RV Park near Omaha. The previous day, a woman was found by an Arkansas state trooper, walking along Highway 65. The woman reported she had been forced to drive to a remote area in Boone County by a man who had hidden in her vehicle while she made a gas purchase at Wild Bill's at the state line. The woman said the man assaulted her, then drove off in her vehicle, leaving her on the side of the road. The abandoned vehicle was later recovered , along with information leading to Stanford's arrest.

Stanford remains jailed in Boone County with bond set at one milliondollars. He's charged with rape, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, terroristic threatening and theft of property. Trial is scheduled for June 14th. Stanford also faces charges in Taney County of kidnapping and armed criminal action.
