Mabel Brown

Mabel Mae Sutterfield Brown, 91, passed away December 18, 2012, Springfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henderson (Brownie) Brown.

Mabel was born in Landis, AR October 20, 1921 and graduated from high school in 1940. She married Brownie on May 2, 1941 and they lived in Harrison, AR for many years. In 2000, Mabel and Brownie moved to Springfield, MO to be near their children. Immediately they joined University Heights Baptist Church and attended faithfully until their health deteriorated.

Three words that sum up her life are faith, family, and friends.

The Brown family would like to thank the staff of Culpepper Place East and Drs. Kinder and Kim for their loving care.

Mabel is survived by two sons and their wives, Sam and Barbara Brown, Ted and June Brown, and a daughter Dana Brown, all of Springfield; and one granddaughter, D.D. Hodges of TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Sally Leach of California.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be at University Heights Baptist Church, 1010 S. National Ave., Springfield, MO on December 20, 2012 with Danny Chisholm officiating. Burial and graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, AR.

Memorials may be made to University Heights Baptist Church or Evergreen Baptist Church of Springfield, MO.
