Radius Jewel “Ray” Holsted, age 66, of Jacksonville, Arkansas (formerly of Marshall), passed from this life Monday, December 31, 2012, at Arkansas Hospice Center in St.Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born August 22, 1946, the son of Walter and Clara (Flowers) Holsted. He was a member of the McArthur Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville.
Radius had worked as a machinist for Franklin Electric in Jacksonville, Arkansas for more than 20 years. Also, he had worked for Timex Company in Little Rock. He very much enjoyed to fish as a hobby. Also, he enjoyed antiques, and he valued his private coin collection of many years. He followed the Arkansas sports teams, especially basketball.
Radius is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. Survivors are: son, Keith Holsted of DeValls Bluff; daughter, Kathryn Parchman of Cabot; seven grandchildren: Brooke Meleney, Bubba Meleney, Bridget Thompson, Ashley Stanley, Anthony Tyler Holsted, Emla Caroline Holsted and John William Holsted; two great grandchildren: Jack Lee Thompson and Dean Aaron Stanley; one sister, Virginia Snow.
Services for Radius Holsted will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2012 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas, with Larry Burton and Anthony Tyler Holsted officiating. Pallbearers will be: Tyler Holsted, Bubba Meleney, Thomas Stanley, Doyle Holsted and David Holsted. Visitation will be Friday preceding the service from 11:00AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Canaan Cemetery near Marshall.
