Leroy “Red” Scott, of Omaha, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at his home. He was 79 years old.
A memorial service will be on Sunday, January 27 at Cedar Valley Church in Hollister, MO at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Doug Grinder officiating. Honorary pallbearers are James Richardson, Chad Richardson, Judd Williams, Rick Scott, Frank Pyshny, Howard Hoover, Coy Scott and Leon Scott.
The son of Samuel and Ida Mae (Gross) Scott was born on March 14, 1933 in Hollister, MO.
Leroy enjoyed gardening, plowing, and fishing.
His parents; three sisters, Lorene Hoover, Darlene Scott, and Annabelle Scott; two brothers, Junior and Cleo Scott; and a great granddaughter, Selai Rose Tyler preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue (Atchison) Scott, of the home; two sons and their wives, Roger and Julie Scott, of Branson, MO, and Jerry and Kathy Scott, of Alpena; a daughter and her husband, Malissa and Jim David, of Hollister, MO; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Heath, Shawn, Samantha, Jaison, Robert, Kyle, and Presley; four great grandchildren, Israel “Izzy”, Mackenzie, Darius, and Damien; two brothers, Charley and Cleaborn Scott, both of Ridgedale, MO; and a host of other family and friends who called him “Papa Red”.
