Edwin “Sonny” Lewis, age 70, of Omaha, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri. The son of Zearl Edwin Lewis and Violet Hetler Lewis was born April 27, 1942, at Eufaula, Oklahoma

Sonny was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a pervious resident of Lone Oak, Texas. He married his loving wife Debbie in Mesquite, Texas on September 2, 1978. He Retired in 1995 as a MCI Field Engineer. Sonny had many hobbies which included fishing, hunting, and carpentry including building doll beds, and toys for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Debbie (Martin) Lewis, of the home; two sons: Darryl Lewis, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Paul Lewis, of Lone Oak, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Nichole & Jacob Lawrence, of Greenville, Texas; three brothers: Charlie Lewis, Billy Lewis and Dale Lewis; four grandchildren: Serenity, Kaydan, Darla and Jehnna; six dogs Peanut, Buddy, Charlie, Tootie, Honey and Bo and a host of nieces nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Alton Raimy, and Brother Carlus Lewis.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Holmes officiating. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery.
