Barbara Kay (Calfy) Lane, of Alpena, passed away on February 22, 2013. She was 57 years old.
Visitation will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 at Holt Memorial Chapel.
Funeral will be on Wednesday, February 27 at Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will precede the funeral from 10:30 to 12:30 at the church. Mark Enloe will officiate. Burial will be in Alpena Cemetery.
The daughter of Howard and Ruth (Graves) Calfy was born on July 18, 1955 in Blackwell, OK. Her siblings are Mike, Rex, Alva, Geraldine, Judy, and Betty. Her parents and siblings Rex and Judy preceded her in death.
She served in the U.S. Air Force from 1973-1977.
Barbara and Randy were married on September 6, 1975. During their 37 years together, they lived in Wichita, KS (1975-1977), Abilene, TX (1977-1982), Bossier City, LA (1982-1993), and have lived in Boone County since 1993. Their children are, Miranda Kay (Lane) Blevins and husband, Max; their children, Melody, Wallace, and Wesley Crowley, Tanner, Lilly, and Jacob Blevins, of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, OK; Melanie Lane, of Mountain Village, AK; and Ryan Lane and wife, Jennifer, of Denton, TX; She also leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends.
She was an active member of Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church. Her passion was to serve the Lord to her greatest ability, especially through the AWANA and WOM (Women on Mission) programs. She was also an active member of the Batavia Friendship Club.
Her other interests included reading, sewing, shopping, traveling with her daughters, and family time. Barbara was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, Christian, and friend to all those who knew her.
