Raylene Beeman, 71, of Fort Scott, Kansas, formally of Green Forest, AR, died Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was born July 6, 1941 in Fort Scott and was adopted at a young age by Raymond Archibald and Mary Alene (Payne) Hood. She married John Beeman on December 7, 1963. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1986.
Raylene was employed at Tyson's in Green Forest until her retirement. She rode her scooter around town for a number of years and enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Raylene was a member of the United Methodist Church of Green Forest.
She is survived by two brothers, Bill Bolden and Larry Bolden both of Fort Scott, four sisters, Donna Fisher of Moundville, MO, Laura Deen of Albany, GA, Bonnie Heaton and Connie Barnum both of Fort Scott, several nieces, nephews and cousins including Linda Poyner of Fort Scott.
A funeral service is planned for Raylene at Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home in Fort Scott, Kansas. Local Memorial Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Pastor Jerry Scitern officiating. Private interment will be at Pickens Cemetery.
