Thomas J. Adams, Flippin

Thomas J. Adams, age 76, of Flippin, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his home.  He was born July 30, 1936 in Johnsburg, Illinois to Alex and Loretta (Diedrich) Adams.  An army veteran of World War II and Korea, he later worked as a foreman at a nuclear power plant.  Thomas had lived in this area for 40 years, coming here from McHenry, Illinois.

Mr. Adams is survived by four sons: James Nussbaum, Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio; Richard Nussbaum and his wife, Linda, of Fort Meyers, Florida; Steven Adams of Yellville, Arkansas; Donald Adams of McHenry, Illinois; a daughter, Barbara Durfee of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; a sister-in-law, June Adams of McHenry, Illinois; twenty  grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Retta, in 2004; a son, Thomas; and a brother, Norbert.

Visitation for Mr. Adams will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville with Bro Kent Goodall officiating.

Interment with military honors presented by VFW Post 1341 and the U.S. Army will follow at Flippin Cemetery in Flippin, Arkansas

Pallbearers will be Steven Adams, Johnnie Johnson, Jim Tharp, Derrick, Durfee, Richard Nussbaum, Donald Adams, and Doug Bean, Jeremy McDonald.
