Erma Jo Smith, age 77, of Peel, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home.  She was born in Oakland, Arkansas to Hershal and Murial (Plumley) Payne on May 25, 1935.  She was a seamstress for Mar-Bax and Levi.

She is survived by her daughter, Guyla Yocham of Peel, Arkansas; two brothers: Dwight Payne of Hutchinson, Kansas; and Larry Payne of Wichita, Kansas; five sisters: Jewel Suns of Boswell, Oklahoma; Jean Wallace of Pyatt, Arkansas; Lucille Johnson of Missouri; Kay Boyles of Wichita, Kansas; and Anita Hite of Augusta, Kansas; three grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy Smith; a brother, Dean Payne; and a sister, Nina Hodges.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Peel Cemetery in Peel, Arkansas.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jay Simmons, Dan Simmons, Blake Simmons, Tristan Simmons, Chad Yocham, and Jack Wallace.
