James "Jim Whitlock

James “Jim” Wiley Whitlock, age 72, of Pyatt, Arkansas passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his home.  Jim was born in Harrison, Arkansas on February 13, 1940 to the late Clate and Orba (Patton) Whitlock.  A lifetime resident of the area, he was a carpenter by trade.  He was a United States Army veteran from the Vietnam era.  Jim loved his family and friends, and loved to “cut up” and have fun.  An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, he also loved all sports, plus he enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the country.

 

Jim is survived by his wife, Syble, of the home; a son, Michael Whitlock and his wife, Michelle, of Yellville; a daughter, Mona Elliott and her husband, Curtis, of Pyatt; and four grandchildren: T.C. Elliott, Isaac Elliot, Madison Whitlock, and Matthew Whitlock.

 

Visitation for Mr. Whitlock will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.  Graveside service will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Patton Cemetery near Pyatt with Gerald Richardson officiating.

 

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Saylors, Billy Ply, Marvin Allen, Don Crigler, Alvin C. Keeter, and Larry Rhodes. 

 

Honorary pallbearers will be L.B. Wood, Lacy Wiseman , Rocky Wolf, Melea Kidder, Jimmy Lane, Kenneth Cheek, Wayne Dillard, Shane Akins, and Johnny Patton.
